SWORN AFFIDAVIT NONA BOOZE Page #1 of 2. AFFIDAVIT STATE OF OHIO HANCOCK COUNTY The Affiant being first duly cautioned and sworn states the following to be true statements of fact on pain of perjury. During Van Wert murder trial Ralph (from Van Wert) called the Party Bar for Deb Young several times during the afternoon and evenings - usually between 6 & 7 p.m.. Sometimes Deb would phone Ralph (collect) in Van Wert, then Ralph would call back in 20 or 30 minutes, if he was tied up in court. One evening Ralph called. I answered the phone "Party Bar". Caller asked if Deb Young was there. I asked who was calling, the man said Ralph. I yelled at Deb it's for you! Deb picked up at the second phone. I stayed on the phone to make sure they were talking before I hung up. Deb said "Hi Honey". I hung up the phone & return [sic] to our table by the back door where the second phone hangs. Deb put the phone to her left ear and placed it so both of us could hear the conversation. She had asked Ralph how the trial went that day. Ralph told her that a lady - (whom I can't remember her name) told in court that day she saw John Willier and Page 2 of 2 A lady (whom she later identified as Betty Jane - The Postmistress) in a car in front of John Willier's trailer. John was seen beating on this woman. At this point I stop listening to get another drink. Deb talked for another 10 to 15 minutes. When Deb got off the phone we talked. I asked Deb what she thought about this testamoney [sic]. She said that this woman was lieing [sic] and Ralph had told her not to worry because he would take good care of her and John Willier. When I asked Deb how she was so sure that Ralph could take good care of her and her Brother John Willier, Deb told me he was either a postal inspector or police officer in Van Wert. I can't remember at this time what she said he did. When answering the phone at the Party Bar I have talked to the same man whom he said was Ralph on two or three times during the time of trial. [sic] Sometimes Ralph would call person to person for Deb Young from Ralph Eversole. To make sure Deb was there so he wouldn't have to pay for call [sic] if she wasn't there. When Ralph was telling Deb about this lady tesimony [sic] Deb had told Ralph that her Brother John Willier couldn't have done it because John was suppose to be with her that day.
