AFFIDAVIT OF DELANEY GIBSON
I am DELANEY GIBSON. I am being interviewed on Tuesday, March 14, 2000
at Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex by Tom Hill, the attorney for John Spirko.
The following are truthful statements.
I had no involvement of any kind in the abduction or murder of Ms. Mottinger.
I was in North Carolina at the time of the abduction and murder in August 1982.
I had a full beard at all times in 1982.
Although I have heard that I was indicted for capital murder in the Mottinger case, I have never been formally charged with Ms. Mottinger's abduction or murder and no detainer was lodged against me.
I was paroled from Kentucky in December 1988. I had my parole revoked in July 1999. My next parole hearing is in September 2000.
While at Eddyville (Kentucky State Penitentiary) in the mid 1980's (I was there from 1986-1990 and again from 1991-1993), I was contacted by telephone by an individual identifying himself as a postal inspector and asked if I would agree to try and get John Spirko to incriminate himself about the Mottinger murder in letters written to me. I told him I didn't want to have anything to do with it and didn't know anything about the Mottinger case.
